When planning a wedding, there are so many details swirling around your brain that it’s easy to overlook some of the smaller ones.  Take for instance, your cake topper.  No doubt, you spend a great deal of time traveling around from bakery to bakery viewing cake designs, comparing color schemes and tasting the many variations of textures and flavors.  Not only does this focal point of your reception need to taste incredible, it also needs to look perfect.  You can’t have the perfect cake, Comfy Couple Cake Topwithout the perfect topper.

“What exactly is a wedding cake topper?” you ask “and why is it so important?”  The cake topper is historically the little bride and groom figurine placed on top of the wedding cake.  Symbolically it represents unity and togetherness but more importantly is a treasured keepsake long after the cake is gone.  Some guidelines for choosing the perfect topper are to select something that represents your personalities, a particular theme, or special hobbies you both share.  For instance, if you are having a casual outdoor wedding and you are an outdoorsie couple, you may want an informal couple figurine surrounded by pine needles.  If your wedding theme is lighthouses, you might choose to have a lighthouse on the top of your cake.  Whatever your preference, make sure your topper not only fits with the design and color of the cake, but also reflects you as a couple.
